Welcome to Noah's Flood: Ancient Stories of Natural Cataclysm (floodofnoah.com). Please take a look around. The site is a fresh, gowing production with ample room for creativity and new genres. See the About and Front Matter pages for a quick introduction to the project.
This is a fast-track project. The release date for the website will capitalize on the March (2014) film, Noah by Darren Aronofsky. Promotion for the site will include email announcements, social media campaign, and press releases about the film & website by good friends among the Academy of Art University Film Department (chair, faculty as well as students who will help with production.) The word will get out. Timeliness is on our side.
Noah's Flood is pro-author. All authored work is liscensed by creative commons. You will be promoted with guides for citation, author photo, a not-too-stuffy-bio, and links to your professional site. Please join me in offering innovative, interesting, and timely dialogue about Genesis and natural cataclysm. How can you contribute?
SHORT ESSAY:
Short essays should be 750-1500 (roughly) words long. They will be organized to fall within the main pages: "Genesis 6-9," "Ancient Near East," "Post-Biblical Literature," "Today: Culture," and "Today: Climate Change." Numerous example titles appear on each page. Feel free to request an idea already displayed or propose a new title/essay idea. Your published essay will look like this. Your author info will go here.
Essays should be written to engage public interest. They will go through an innovative peer review process and will benefit from editorial interaction.
BLOG POST:
Blog Posts are opportunties for 100% intellectual play/experimentation. Blog posts serve as neat ideas, 'working papers,' 'I only have 10 minutes,' 'this doesn't fit anywhere else.' It is possible to develop a blog post into a short essay at a later date. Blogs can use links, images, and video (of course).
